Mobile App Development for Business
1001569350 Ontario Inc. plans, designs and develops iOS and Android apps for businesses in Ontario and across Canada, from early product planning through development, testing and release on the App Store and Google Play.
Do you need a mobile app?
A mobile app is worth building when people need something on their phone that a website cannot do as well: working offline, using the camera or location, sending push notifications, or opening a task in one tap many times a day. Field staff, repeat customers and members are typical users.
If your customers mostly visit once to read information or make an enquiry, a fast business website or web app is usually the better investment. We will tell you which one fits during the first conversation.
Mobile app services
Product planning
Define who the app is for, the problem it solves and the smallest first version that delivers real value.
UX and UI design
Screen flows and interface design that follow iOS and Android conventions, so the app feels familiar from the first launch.
iOS and Android development
Native or cross-platform development, chosen according to the features, budget and timeline of the project.
API and backend integration
Connect the app to your existing systems or a new backend that stores data securely and keeps devices in sync.
Accounts and authentication
Sign-in, roles and permissions, password reset and secure session handling.
Notifications
Push notifications for reminders, status updates and alerts, sent at the right moment rather than all at once.
Testing and store release
Testing on real devices, then preparing listings and submissions for the App Store and Google Play.
Ongoing improvements
Updates for new operating system versions, fixes and new features based on how people actually use the app.
Native or cross-platform?
Native apps (Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android) give the deepest access to device features and the most polished feel. Cross-platform frameworks let one codebase run on both platforms, which can reduce cost and keep features in step. Neither is always right. The choice depends on which device features you need, how important platform-specific polish is, and how the app will be maintained over time.
How a mobile app project works
- Plan. Agree on users, core features and what success looks like for the first release.
- Prototype. Review clickable screen designs before development starts, when changes are cheapest.
- Build. Develop in stages with test builds you can install on your own phone.
- Test. Check functionality, performance, accessibility and behaviour on different devices and connection speeds.
- Release. Prepare store listings, privacy details and screenshots, and manage the submission and review process.
- Improve. Monitor stability and feedback after launch and plan the next update.
Privacy and security
Both app stores require clear disclosure of what data an app collects. We design apps to collect only what is needed, store sensitive data securely, and document data handling so your privacy disclosures are accurate.
